The design of Barberino Designer Outlet recalls the architecture of an old rural Tuscan village:

There are clear references to the ceramics of Della Robbia, the architecture of Piazza degli Innocenti in Florence, the Renaissance villas around Florence, and the early 15th century Palazzos in the city. The focal point of the Centre in architectural terms is without doubt the Sieve river that flows through it. This was made possible by the Hydea company of Florence, which was responsible for the engineering and architecture of the project and of all related infrastructure on behalf of McArthurGlen.

In architectural terms, the Designer Outlet is divided into several buildings that create an urban context of about 25,000 m2, with two large squares surrounded by arcades. The interior layout is built around two pedestrian avenues that run along the banks of the river; these avenues are linked by magnificent bridges, which are also reserved for pedestrians.
